The Best of the Jersey Shore:
Tiki Murph
If you travel to Long Beach Island, you've passed by Tiki Murph. For over a decade, the Tiki Man has set up shop in Barnegat along Route 72, about ten miles from the island. Lining the highway in either direction are signs extolling cars to "Honk if you love Tiki". Every spring, Tiki sets up shop, a sure sign that summer is here.
Specializing in "chainsaw art", the Tiki's collection seems to grow every year, and scores of cars stop daily, if only to admire his eclectic collection.

Whether it's a carved Tiki totem, a chainsaw-sculpted dolphin, or a patio chiminea, Tiki has a collection of interesting items on display. The laid-back style of his operation is a good way to get in the mood on the way to the shore.
When you're headed to Long Beach Island next time, stop in to see the Tiki, and tell him we sent you. But even if you can't stop, toot your horn as you pass.
