The Wetlands Institute

The Wetlands Institute is a non-profit institution located on 6,000 acres of coastal wetlands. The marsh and nearby upland and barrier islands are the living laboratory where more than 40,000 visitors each year learn about life on this thin ribbon between land and sea.

The Institute offers field trips and family outings. Visitors can choose from guided tours, summer programs and much more.

Research space is available for visiting scientists. Over the years, many different and important studies have been conducted at the Institute on such topics as beach erosion, the preservation of terrapins, and surveys of wildlife - underwater and on land.

The Institute is located 3 miles east of Exit #10 on the Garden State Parkway at 1075 Stone Harbor Boulevard, Stone Harbor. Telephone 609-368-1211.
